Kiting’s most influential influencer, Colin Carroll set a challenge for kite brands to send over an unbranded, completely blank freeride kite for scrutiny by a pro rider, who had no idea what kites he was testing, or even which of the brands took part.
Were we up for such a challenge?
Hells yeah, we were!
The criteria was to send over a 10m freeride kite with no branding, ie. completely blank. (Well our bumpers gave that one away from the first shot on the beach we saw, although any other kite would have had the Load Frame, and that would been a complete giveaway 🙂
Of course, we had many questions, like the personal preferences of the pro rider through years of using a certain style, the biases that might exist, the local conditions of an unknown location, and of course, we would only see the results when they were published.
But in the end, we wanted to take part because it sounded like an exciting project and one that we would back.
All of the brands that took part do just that in their own amazing way, otherwise, they would never have even stepped up.
Yes? No? Is this madness?
See for yourself.

EPISODE 3:
The final verdict.Â
We are glad we took the risk to take part in the first of many Blank Kite reviews.
Special thanks to Youri Zoon, Adrian Kerr and of course, Colin Carrol for putting this together.
The final verdict: The Lithium is a great kite, and one of the best freeride kites available.
Head to head, it was close to taking the top spot. It is particularly good at all-around freeride and foiling.
Beautiful to fly, and it will impress you.
