Welcome Jason Van Der Spuy!
Starting his shred journey at the age of 4, in his home town of Melkbos, South Africa. Jason Van Der Spuy is a well-seasoned competitor who started entering into events at 7 years old. At 13 he began to represent South Africa on the international stage. Joining local shredder and now team mate, Oswald Smith, these two have been battling it out on the water for the podium circa 2010!
By the age of 14 Jason was 2 x SA Junior Champion. In early 2017 he joined the 20m Woo club, He began to chase big air and in 2015, and really started dialling his Megaloops in early 2020. More recently his current highest jump is 33m. Since then he has been combining Freestyle, Megaloops and big air, where he has found his niche with short lines.
He is currently ranked 5th in the Big Air Kite League and is set to compete in the Megaloop Challenge, and RedBull King Of the Air later this year.
